Magpie Tales - Sunday, August 31, 2014 – Great Catch - Mag 235

A bounty to surpass all others
Surprised myself
Alf amazed at our haul.
The seagulls hysterical.
It comes with pleasant consequences
New clothes for the kids
A new hat for the wife
A full pantry
Home life contentment.
Makes up for the days of minimal catch
Barely enough to feed us
Nothing to sell
Desperate times
Hunger a way of life.
Now in the immediate,
More settled times.
Though after todays elation
Tomorrow it all begins again
Nets out
Hopes high
Dreams a plenty
Seagulls just as frenzied.
