Wordle #24 - Poltergeist the Band

The band I formed in 1976 was called Poltergeist.
Some said we stank as a band but we had a lot of fun.
Mephitic music some called it.
The ivories twinkled
Moments of static, to keep you guessing
Inimical times for audiences just didn’t get us
When our lives were at risk
Our bones in danger of serious fractures
As we stood on the threshold of greatness
Our futures hanging in the balance
But on the fifth day, disaster
Alarm bells, vapours rising
Our lives did literally become static.
Now in my senescent days
I reflect on what might have been.
At times I do have mephitic moments
Nightmares of an inimical nature
But I hold those times close to me.
Poltergeist still screams to me
As I swim in night vapours.

Magpie Tales - Sunday, August 31, 2014 – Great Catch - Mag 235

-->

A bounty to surpass all others
Surprised myself
Alf amazed at our haul.
The seagulls hysterical.
It comes with pleasant consequences
New clothes for the kids
A new hat for the wife
A full pantry
Home life contentment.
Makes up for the days of minimal catch
Barely enough to feed us
Nothing to sell
Desperate times
Hunger a way of life.
Now in the immediate,
More settled times.
Though after todays elation
Tomorrow it all begins again
Nets out
Hopes high
Dreams a plenty
Seagulls just as frenzied.

Magpie Tales Sunday, August 24, 2014 – Face

                                                           Starry Night by Alex Ruiz

Illuminesence
Constellations
Silhouettes
Where to begin he thought.

Took hours to get here
The sky is brilliant
Dare I capture it all?
Can I do that?
Right now I am overcome
Magnificence and grief
Such strange bed fellows.
I wonder what goes on out there
In their day to day?
My candle is burning down
Paint at the ready
I’ll engross myself in this
See where it takes me.
That crescent moon
Reminds me of a love I lost
A spark was all there was
No time for nurturing.
Consumption.
Sorrow.
All a matter of what if.
Her face is what I see
Even now staring into these heavens
It’s her image
Glittering among the stars
I see it now
As I take up my brush.
